Why Do I have to Wait?

  • Every pair of skis is custom built, whether you add a custom option or not, we use the exact same build process in every pair. It takes time to carefully craft each pair. We don’t cut corners, only the best - no compromises.
  • Our ski build queue is currently at our production capacity. Again, we will not cut corners to speed this up.
  • Quality takes time and good things come to those who wait!

When should I expect my skis?

  • Your skis will ship based on the current Build Time listed on the product page.
  • Once your skis are ready to ship, we'll email you a tracking number with an estimated delivery date. Most orders ship via USPS Priority Mail.

Want skis faster?

  • Contact us to see if we can expedite your order. Call us at 231.459.4323 or email info@sccskis.com.
  • Check out our Fast Ship skis and Quick Finish Skis.
    • In Stock Skis: Skis are in stock, ready to ship out same/next day.
    • Quick Finish Skis: Skis have been pressed and are holding in finishing. These skis can usually ship in 5-7 working days.

Will this time ever go down?

  • We are currently expanding our production capacity and hope to drive this queue down soon. We are always conservative while scaling production to ensure the highest quality products.

All Mountain Powder Skis

The Ahmeek 115s are fat powder skis whose appetite for deep snow is matched only by their versatility all over the mountain. After a morning of face shots in the pow, the Ahmeek 115s will powerfully set their edges on hardpack and anything else in their way. The 115s are built to take on the nastiest terrain and let you rip high speed turns that would normally have you dumping speed.

Why You'll Love Them

  1. These are the skis to take out in the best and worst conditions - the good, well, they're usually always good; but the 115s turn the table on bad conditions are make them feel like they're not even there.
  2. The 115 mm waist width and rockered tip will keep you floating in powder without all the leaning back - your legs just got stronger!
  3. Camber pockets molded into the minimal overall camber maximize edge hold on hardpack.
  4. Full twintip tails make the Ahmeeks maneuver easily in the tightest trees.
  5. MidLight construction keeps the burly construction's weight in check and ready for short-to-mid length tours.

New For 2019

For the 2018/19 season, the Ahmeek 115 is the ski that underwent a complete redesign of the construction and camber/rocker profile while maintaining the same rock solid sidecut shape as the previous Bootjack 115. The Bootjack 115 was always meant to be a large version of the Ahmeek 115, but for the 2019 season, the construction has synced up with the entire new Ahmeek Collection.

Our goal was simple, lighter, stronger, better flotation, without compromising anything (especially edge grip).

  • MidLight Construction: weight reduced by over 1/2lb per pair (over the Bootjack 115)!
  • New Camber/Rocker Profile: increased gradual tip rocker length to increase flotation and maneuverability, maintained minimal camber + camber pockets for edge grip, increased tail early rise to increase maneuverability.
  • Several Construction Changes: UHMW Sidewalls - bombproof materials for the harshest conditions, increased tip/tail rubber to help with head-on impacts, added edge heat treatment for durability and long edge life.

Ahmeek 105 - Carbon Skis + Wood Skis

Perfectly Mated Sidecut and Rocker

We've optimized the rockered rise of the tip and tail to start slightly before the end of the traditional sidecut. This allows the ski to maneuver faster, ride more predictably, and perform more naturally than anything in it’s class.

The tip rocker profile is perfectly mated with the sidecut length to provide exceptional and hook-free turn initiation. The rocker profile also lets you smear into or out of a turn whenever you want and float in the soft stuff. The camber + camber pockets grip on everything!

Bridging the Gap

Most skis fall into one of two categories: aggressive freeride or playful freestyle. The Ahmeek 115 bridges the gap between the two, allowing for charging hardpack and big terrain, yet having enough flex in the tip to remain playful in all over the mountain and float in the powder.

NOW AVAILABLE IN 95 MM, 105MM, 115MM

For the 2019 season, we've extended our Flagship Ahmeek 105 with two new offerings. Now you can get the best characteristics from the Ahmeek in exactly your width.

WOW!!! This is what I have to say.

Bootjack 115 Wilderness Collection
Where: British Colombia, Canada (mostly backcountry)

I recently bought a pair of Shaggy's skis Bootjack 115 Wilderness Collection. I had the chance to try them in various snow conditions such as: deep powder, icy conditions, rainy conditions, tight trees and all the way to spring skiing. WOW!!! This is what I have to say.

I've had the fortune to start skiing at age 3 year and for the first time, I took the plunge and ordered a pair of skis from the internet without physically trying or seeing them. I have to admit that I was nervous, but since Shaggy's was offering a 5 day satisfaction guarantee, it put me at at ease.

I mostly chose the Bootjack because I was going on a backcountry ski trip to British Columbia Canada where I was expecting deep Powder and large terrain. I am pleased to report that the Bootjack performed very well! Even at low speed, the pronounced angle of the rocker tip kept me on top of the deep snow making the tight turns easy in between trees. There is no better feeling than to make big turns in deep powder on good quality skis.

I also had a chance to ski at a resort where the conditions were icy in the morning and soft in the afternoon. The skis performed relatively well due to the camber and the camber pocket. The skis felt strong and stiff when I was on edge maintaining wicked speeds on big GS turns. Surprisingly enough, I was able to ski comfortably in the moguls. I tried a lot of powder skis, but I never found one that is as versatile as the the bootjack!

I find the Bootjack is a perfect skis for someone who wants to skis powder, but also wants to have fun skiing groomed trails. I added the Limited Wilderness Collection package to the Bootjack only because I found the graphics amazing! The only down side to the Wilderness Collection is it brought a lot of conversation on and around the ski lifts.....not the best for anyone who prefers not to socialize. LoL

Should be called the G.O.A.T

This ski should be called the GOAT, just like Michael Jordan (or if you're from the U.P maybe pre-vikings Brett Farve), this ski is hands down the Greatest Of All Time. Okay yes as an ambassador to the brand I'm a little biased, but with 5 years at Shaggy's this is by far my favorite offering. The first powder ski I have ever seen that is equally at home on a 20" blower day, or a 'it rained yesterday and now its 8 degrees out' day. Being from Michigan this is the way our winters go. From feast to famine, freeze to thaw, and back again, the Bootjack 115 charges through anything you put in front of it.
The generous rocker in the tip gives this ski that elusive 'surfy' feel everyone is looking for in the soft stuff. The beefy 115mm underfoot, while admittedly a little heavy, keeps you and your legs happily afloat on even the deepest of days. The soft tip and relatively short radius keeps them playful and and oh-so-jibby in powder.
That's the easy part. There are dozens of skis on the market that ski great when conditions are great.
Where the Bootjack 115 really shines is on the OTHER days. The days where you question whether its really worth it to even drive to the hill. When its icy, chopped up, mashed potatoes, or any other concoction of snow and ice. This fat powder ski will blow anything else out of the water. The stiff, wide body of the ski, combined with generous camber and added camber pockets, make this ski feel more confident and stable than any ski I've ever been on. There is no speed limit with the Bootjack. It smashes through anything in front of it and laughs at cliff drops and snow snakes. GS turns through moguls? No problem.
If you're looking for a ski that goes faster than Ricky Bobby at the Daytona 500, surfs powder like John John Florence at pipeline and inspires more confidence than Mel Gibson at the end of Braveheart this is the one for you.

Can't Wait for POW!!!

Thus far, my experiences have largely been on groomed, with small "Michigan Powder Days". The Bootjack is a tremendously fun ski to ride. But it definitely behaves much more like a powder ski in how it wants input. It's got a great, fun surfy feeling to it that makes it a blast! Driving your knee into the turn just isn't for this ski. It likes a smoother, softer approach and rewards you with a really groovy feel. It's a great combo with my Blizzard Bonafides which are more traditional style of ski (albeit larger). But even in just a little pow, I can't WAIT to hit some deep Western powder!!!! This thing is going to rock in that!

A do everything ski!

I had a chance to try these skis out at Loveland ski area last April and I must say they are a wonderful pair of skis. I currently ride the 2015 Tubby and have been looking for something with more of an all mountain/ daily driver feel. I tested skis a lot of skis last year so I could make a decision on what I should buy and these are by far the best all mountain/ daily drives I test. I look forward to getting these mounted up and enjoy them for years to come!

Carbon Fiber Skis vs Fiberglass Skis - Skis Handmade in the USA

STANDARD LAYUP

Our standard layup construction includes a select cut Ash hardwood core wrapped with triaxial fiberglass and carbon fiber stringers under the core. The carbon stringers are used to increase pop and rebound energy in the ski, while complementing the predictable and torsionally rigid feel of the triaxial fiberglass.

WHICH CONSTRUCTION SHOULD I GET?

The standard layup is best suited for the majority of skiers, it blends the traditional hardwood core with an energetic feel. Skis utilizing this construction perform virtually the same as their Pure Carbon counterpart. Best for all mountain skiing with limited backcountry touring.

NANOMAG® DAMPING SYSTEM LAYUP

This method of construction incorporates a sheet of nanoMAG® magnesium into our Standard Layup that significantly reduces vibration and chatter in the nastiest conditions. The damping of the material increases edge hold and creates an exceptionally smooth ride.

WHICH CONSTRUCTION SHOULD I GET?

The nanoMAG® Damping System is suited for the skier looking for the ultimate in smooth skiing, especially when making high speed turns. This option maximizes grip on ice. Two words to describe this option are "Smooth and Stable". This will slightly reduce liveliness (vs. Standard or Pure Carbon) but gives you that Cadillac Ride!

PURE CARBON LAYUP

Our Pure Carbon construction includes an ultra lightweight biaxial Carbon Fiber (+-45 deg. orientation) coupled with a slightly heavier unidirectional Carbon Fiber. A full Carbon model allows for an exceptionally lightweight and responsive ski. The exceptionally high strength and stiffness of the Carbon Fiber allows us to use a lightweight Poplar wood core, that is Select Cut in Northern Michigan. For maximum binding screw retention, we mill out the core and place an extra retention plate in the binding area. Average weight savings versus their standard counterpart is 1.6 - 1.8 LB/Pair.

WHICH CONSTRUCTION SHOULD I GET?

The Pure Carbon layup is best suited for the skier looking to often use the ski for backcountry touring where the weight savings allows for more climbing, or someone looking for the lightest ski. Many skiers have reported back that they are able to increase their on-snow time when the conditions are rough, primarily due to reduced muscle fatigue. Skis utilizing this construction perform virtually the same as their standard counterpart, however have a significant weight savings.

*Please note that due to the opacity of Carbon Fiber, skis with this construction will not have "clear windows" into the core as on some models. The windows will instead show the carbon fiber on top of the wood core. Alternatively, and based on availability you may specify to have your graphic printed on a lightweight matte finish white material. Ski graphics with "windows" to see the core, will be white instead.

Frequently Asked Questions

Carbon Fiber Skis vs MidLight Fiberglass Skis - Skis Handmade in the USA

MIDLIGHT LAYUP

Our MidLight Construction combines a laminated Ash and Poplar hardwood core wrapped with a lighter Triaxial Fiberglass and twice the unidirectional Carbon Fiber of the standard construction. This construction style reduces the weight of the ski by ~1/2 lb/pair while maintaining all the energetic characteristics of our Standard Ash construction. With the MidLight construction, you get a ski that's on the lighter side of the spectrum, but is rock solid when it comes to charging through nasty variable snow.
