The Ahmeek 105 is made for skiers who want to explore every aspect of the mountain. The balanced flex perfectly blends power and playfulness, providing maximum versatility. Don’t hesitate to lean it over and let it rip on groomers, as it features best-in-class edge hold. When the snow is soft, the rockered tips and tails make for a lively ride, allowing you to float over powder and weave through trees effortlessly. Put it all together, and the Ahmeek 105 can handle just about anything Mother Nature can throw at it.

Features

  • Tip and tail rocker maximize flotation in powder and bust through crud.
  • Full twintip tail allows the Ahmeek 105 to maneuver easily in the tightest trees.
  • Camber pockets molded within the overall camber triple the turn initiation contact points for maximum edge grip on hardpack.
  • Hybrid MidLight construction combines ash and poplar hardwoods with carbon fiber and lightweight triaxial fiberglass for weight reduction without sacrificing pop and energy.
  • Balanced flex allows skiers to charge groomers and big terrain, yet have enough flex in the tip and tail to remain playful across the mountain and float through powder.
  • Rounded mini-cap top edge with full-height UHMW sidewalls are bombproof and provide a sleek look.

Don't just take our word for it

The Ahmeek 105 could arguably be in this section (all-mountain More Forgiving), our More Stable all-mountain section, or even our All-Mountain Freestyle one. That’s because it’s a damp, pretty stable, and playful ski that offers an excellent blend of firm- and soft-snow performance. Its “camber pockets” in front of and behind the bindings lead to above-average edge hold for a ski this wide. Coupled with its fat, soft tips, that makes the Ahmeek an excellent carver, while its fairly deep tip / tail rocker lines also make it feel maneuverable in tight terrain.

Build Notes

Ride Notes: Burly, nimble, light - but not too light - it busts crud with ease and rises up in powder.

Design Needs: Float in deep powder - whip around trees - rail on groomers like a narrower ski.

Purpose: Build one ski to do everything but make the most of a day when the powder is fresh. Make the one ski that you can stash in your car and not need to worry about what conditions are like.

Common Questions

What length should I get?

The Ahmeek 105 has tip rocker and a full twin tail. If you are between lengths, size up for a more stable ride, size down for more maneuverability. Check out our size chart for more info.

What bindings should I get?

You can use any binding on the Ahmeek 105 as long as the brake width is at least 105mm wide. We run Marker Griffon bindings on our demo skis. Visit your local ski shop for bindings and mounting.

Are they tuned and waxed?

Skis come tuned with a 1° base edge bevel and a 2° side edge bevel and a slight tip/tail detune. The skis are waxed with a universal temperature wax to get you going.

Premium Materials

Core
Laminated ash/poplar hardwood: Long grain premium white ash and tulip poplar is hand selected and cut into full-length strips. Strips are individually flex indexed and laminated together symmetrically. Each laminated core is CNC milled to a precise thickness profile developed for each model and length.

Composites
Unidirectional carbon fiber strips below the core, lightweight triaxial fiberglass below the core, fiberglass binding mat underfoot. Rubber bonding strips placed along edges, sidewalls, and ends for rock solid bonding.

Bio-Based Epoxy
Entropy Super Sap® epoxy contains 28% bio-based content and is specifically designed for skis. It's formulated for high-strength and impact resistance, which creates a durable, tough, and lightweight composite.

Sidewalls
Full-height UHMW - the same raw material as your base, bombproof and double chamfered for reduced swingweight. A rounded mini-cap top edge rolls over the sidewall to protect your topsheets.

Topsheet
Clearview gloss nylon with sublimated graphics and transparent windows to the wood core.

Base + Edge
1.4 mm CNC Knife Cut 4001 Race Grade Durasurf sintered UHMW. 2.2 mm over-sized and heat treated edges take a beating.

Great One Ski Quiver

The Ahmeek's are a great pair of skis for the midwest with occasional trips out west. They handle moderate powder and tight trees with ease, while remaining fun on groomers and mixed midwest conditions. They are much lighter than my previous pair of skis, yet stiff enough to charge through chop! I really like the limited edition graphics as well and the ability to customize the design if desired! This ski has made both my narrower and fatter skis essentially obsolete, and is definitely more fun to ride that both of those!

Best Skis I've Ever Owned

I bought the 2022 Ahmeek 105's after taking a few runs on a pair of Shaggy's that my brother lent me, and I couldn't have been happier with them last season. I was expecting them to be a good all-mountain skis that made some compromises on differing terrains, but I couldn't have been more wrong. They were a true joy on the long groomers that I rode in Utah. They carve well, and are incredibly controlled when you want to go fast. I didn't get to experience them on a powder day out west, but on the powder I could find they were incredible. I also had a chance to run them through some mixed conditions at Mt. Bohemia, and they made my trip up there one of the most memorable so far. For a pair of skis that are a joy in so many different conditions, I couldn't have asked for anything better.

AHMEK 105 /Single Quiver Western Ski

Like many avid skiers, Ive traveled for years with multiple skis, always dreaming of characteristics that would be desirable in a single ski travel ski. Let’s face it, traveling with multiple skis or even trying to swap out once on the mountain is a pain. I want, no, need, versatility to ski the entire mountain. The Ahmek 105 with nanomag is the ski Ive dreamed of. This ski is FUN. Trustworthy. Predictable until it isn’t (ie fun, see comparison to WRT below). It’s a workhorse and I will be buying the 115 for next season for deeper/storm days.

This is the 5th ski in my current quiver (Stockli AX, WRT, E100, DPS 106 C2). This ski is lighter than the E100 yet nearly as damp and stable at 50 mph plus. It’s got a kick like my WRT (you read that right). Load this sucker up with shorter turns on harder snow and, not only will the edge be there, but you’ll get some out of the turn ( was shocked by this!). It’s reasonably quick in trees and floats well. The tail is there, but releases on demand. Smears and checks back up immediately. It engages in turns at slow speeds (super important for me, I love edging on cat tracks or mellow slopes). It seems to “want” any turn, or turn shape I throw at it. Tip shape/flex remains stable in chop and at speed (yet it is such a light ski, how!?). All this in a 105 waisted ski, insane! I blindly purchased this ski last summer and, for the first time in years, I am not looking for a replacement in this category.

I am 6’4”, 190. Bought the 186, stock layup/core, added nanomag. P14’s OTL. I do wonder what a longer 188-190 version would be like BUT with the blunt nose the effective length/area appears the same as my 190 Wailer 106’s…
