(Ski Builder) Production - Finishing and Tuning

Shaggy's Skis (SCC Skis, LLC) has expanded to a new 8,000 square-foot facility and is looking for a Ski Production Technician (in finishing) to join our ski building team. The candidate must be a team player and efficient communicator.

Please include a brief overview of why you're applying to this position and a bit about your skiing background.

Due to the custom and low volume nature of our products, production will require critical thinking and high attention to detail.

This position will be involved in all processes from taking a pressed ski through inspection and packaging. A large portion of this position will include ski cutout on a bandsaw, sanding/shaping, and base grinding using both wet belt sanders and a stone grinder.

The ideal applicant will have experience either with tuning skis or general woodworking (using bandsaws, routers, sanders, etc).

Attention to detail in ski finishing is of utmost importance and is critical for this position. Applicant should be comfortable around general woodworking machinery.

While the ideal candidate for this position will have prior ski tuning experience, we will also consider entry level candidates with a strong passion for skiing and a strong mechanical aptitude.

Starting Compensation: $16.00 – $18.50 per hour depending on experience (primarily tuning) - this is starting, not a ceiling. We review performance quarterly in the first year. Expect to reach $21+/hour in 1-2 years.
