(Ski Builder)  Finishing and Tuning Technician

At Shaggy’s, every ski we build carries our name and the craftsmanship behind it matters. We’re looking for a dedicated Ski Production Technician - Finishing & Tuning to join our small, skilled team and help carry our craftsmanship forward as we continue to refine and grow our ski-building operation.

This role takes skis from freshly pressed to ready for the mountain. You’ll combine hands-on craftsmanship with precision machine operation, using both manual tools and our high-end Wintersteiger automated tuning system to shape, grind, finish, and tune each pair of skis to perfection.

You’ll work alongside experienced builders, learning the full finishing process, from bandsaw cutout and sanding to hand-finishing, waxing, and buffing. The right candidate takes pride in producing high-quality work, cares for equipment, and enjoys working in a collaborative, detail-oriented environment.

While the ideal candidate for this position will have prior ski tuning experience, we will also consider entry level candidates with a strong passion for skiing and a strong mechanical aptitude.

Compensation: Competitive and based on experience.

Full Time Benefits include: Health Insurance (75% employer paid), 401K with 3% employer contribution, free ski season passes (Boyne Mountain and Mount Bohemia), free custom skis, ski industry discounts.

  • Cut pressed skis apart on a bandsaw
  • Shape skis on manual and powered sanders
  • Operate and maintain the automated Wintersteiger tuning system

  • Assist with general woodworking and shop projects

Requirements

  • Must be a skier or snowboarder with a genuine passion for the sport
  • Strong work ethic and self motivated
