Skiing is all about getting on the snow and making laps with friends! The slow start to winter this year forced us to postpone Shaggy's Family Vacation at Mount Bohemia to March 11-14.
So what do you do when life gives you lemons? Make lemonade!
Rather than getting bummed, we decided to head to Michigan's Porcupine Mountains Ski Area, known as the Porkies. We invited anyone to join us making laps and enjoying the (Lake) Superior views!
After getting off one of the first chairs of the day, Jeff, Spencer, and Ryan quickly shot into the trees to find some fresh snow.
After a few runs in the trees, we caught up with a few more members of the Shaggy's Family!
And not to be shown up, Dave from Minnesota sends it off a bump in the glades.
Joe and his daughter from Wausau, WI drove up to make some laps on Friday!
John cruised through the stashes of soft snow along the edges of the treelines.
And after a ride up the tow rope to the section of the Porkies that used to be lift-served, we mobbed down Porcupine Plunge and even jumped off some of the old lift tower bases!
After skiing hard all morning, we pulled out the grills set up in the parking lot!
Dave pulled out his new custom Ahmeek 105s with his own photo of Bete Grise on them - they look sharp!
A few more customers joined us in the afternoon to bust the crud and dip into the trees.
At the end of the day, we spotted a large rock with what looked to be enough snow cover to make the jump!
Day 2 started out with a few rays of sunshine and a few more members of the Shaggy's Family showed up!
The Bergman family was out in full force to show off their love for skiing!
All in all, we had an awesome time at The Porkies and cannot wait to get out and make some laps with the Shaggy's Family again soon!
At Shaggy's Skis, we believe in creating unforgettable memories on the slopes with loved ones, and our skis are designed to enhance those experiences. Our dedication to building strong relationships and fostering a sense of community sets us apart from the pack.
