Phoenix 110

Details

Days spent earning your turns in the backcountry are epic - provided you have the right setup. The Phoenix 110 is our purpose-built backcountry ski, with a host of features that appeal to skiers who want to move fast and light uphill while still being able to charge on the way down. The pure carbon construction and full poplar core are very light without sacrificing stiffness, and the 110 mm waist provides plenty of float. Don’t settle for a featherweight pair of skis that compromise downhill performance - go with the Phoenix 110.

Features

  • Pure Carbon construction combines an ultra-lightweight biaxial carbon fiber with a slightly heavier unidirectional carbon fiber and a poplar hardwood core to create an exceptionally lightweight and responsive ski. *Please note the clear windows in the ski graphic will show carbon fiber rather than wood, as carbon is opaque.
  • Full-height urethane sidewalls bonded with four layers of rubber are bombproof.
  • Clearview topsheet shows the real carbon fiber in the ski.
  • Notched tails keep your skins on straight when ascending.

Build Notes

Ride Notes: Love the open runs and hero snow, yet are still easy to pivot around tight trees. Light on the way up, stiff and stable on the way down. Definitely more suited towards the backcountry, but can still rail a turn inbounds.

Design Needs: Lightweight carbon build - substantial flotation in powder - skin notch in tail - camber underfoot for edge grip - tip rocker for maneuverability.

Purpose: Make a dedicated backcountry ski that is built to maximize your fun on the way down in a lightweight pure carbon build. Most skis in this category are built with a weight requirement first, then performance as a secondary - not the Phoenix 110.

Common Questions

What length should I get?

The Phoenix 110 has a rockered tip. If you are between two sizes - you can easily size up for stability if skiing open terrain, if you prefer maneuverability - size down. Check out our size chart for more info.

What bindings should I get?

You can use any binding on the Phoenix 110 as long as the brake width is at least 110 mm wide. We run Marker Kingpin bindings on our demo skis. Visit your local ski shop for bindings and mounting.

Are they tuned and waxed?

Skis come tuned with a 1° base edge bevel and a 2° side edge bevel and a slight tip/tail detune. The skis are waxed with a universal temperature wax to get you going.

Premium Materials

Core

Laminated poplar hardwood: Long grain premium tulip poplar is hand selected and cut into full-length strips. Strips are individually flex indexed and laminated together symmetrically. Each laminated core is CNC milled to a precise thickness profile developed for each model and length.

Composites

Unidirectional carbon fiber strips above and below the core, ultra-lightweight biaxial carbon fiber above and below the core, fiberglass binding mat underfoot. Rubber bonding strips placed along edges, sidewalls, and ends for rock solid bonding.

Bio-Based Epoxy

Entropy Super Sap® epoxy contains 28% bio-based content and is specifically designed for skis. It's formulated for high-strength and impact resistance, which creates a durable, tough, and lightweight composite.

Sidewall

Full-height urethane - bombproof and double chamfered for reduced swingweight. A rounded mini-cap top edge rolls over the sidewall to protect your topsheets.

Topsheet

Clearview gloss nylon with sublimated graphics and transparent windows to the carbon fiber.

Base + Edge

1.4 mm CNC Knife Cut 4001 Race Grade Durasurf sintered UHMW. 2.2 mm over-sized and heat treated edges take a beating.
