Do you love the minimal look of a clean wood ski? This all clear topsheet shows off the beauty of the wood core underneath.

Show off your love for craftsmanship with this custom build on your new skis! This isn't a veneer simply laminated on top of the skis, you're seeing the actual build. You'll see through the triaxial fiberglass and to the wood core and sidewalls.

We proudly use Select Cut Northern Michigan hardwoods for our cores and every pair of skis built with this clear topsheet will be unique. No two pieces of wood are ever the same (each pair uses 14 pieces).

  • Custom Built each pair built just for you
  • Real Wood no veneer here - you're seeing the actual construction of the ski under the hand drawn Lake Michigan graphic.
  • Available on most ski models to suit your unique skiing style

Proudly Made in USA

Core

Laminated Ash or Ash/Poplar Hardwood: Long grain premium White Ash and Tulip Poplar is hand selected and cut into full length strips. Strips are individually flex indexed and laminated together symmetrically. Each laminated core is CNC milled to a precise thickness profile developed for each model and length.

Composites

Unidirectional Carbon Fiber strips along the core, lightweight Triaxial Fiberglass above and beneath the core, Fiberglass binding mat underfoot. Rubber bonding strips placed along edges, sidewalls, and ends for rock solid bonding.

Sidewall

Full height UHMW - the same raw material as your base, bombproof and double chamfered for reduced swingweight.

Topsheet

Clearview gloss Nylon with sublimated graphics and transparent windows to inside the ski.

Base + Edge

1.4 mm CNC Knife Cut 4001 Race Grade Durasurf sintered UHMW. 2.2 mm over-sized and heat treated edges take a beating.

Blog Post About How to Size and Select Skis

Here's a basic chart to get you started:

Ski Sizing Chart

Sizing skis is a little bit of an art and a little bit of a science. There are numerous factors that all affect the optimal ski length for you.

A few of the factors are:

  • Skier size and weight
  • Skier ability (experts size up, beginners size down)
  • Type of terrain you like
  • Where you normally ski
  • Current ski size

The list could go on and on, but if you need help with the decision, always feel free to call us at 231.459.4323, live chat, or email us!

What snow conditions are they made for?

Ski Comparison Table

Are they right for me?
The custom clear "Woody" graphic is available on most ski models that we make. If you're unsure about which model is right for you, just give us a call at 231-459-4323 or email mail@skishaggys.com for help!

What length should I get?
Each model in our ski line has unique characteristics - please visit each individual ski model page for more info or contact us. View 2020 skis at https://www.skishaggys.com/collections/2019-2020-skis.

What's the base graphic?
The base graphic is the standard base from the respective stock model - IE the Ahmeek 95/105/115 have one ski black and one ski blue with opposing "Shaggy's" letters in them. The Belle 95s have an all black base with white "Shaggy's letters.

Why aren't they available on the Brockway 80/90/100 or Phoenix 105?
The construction of the Brockway ski line and Phoenix 105 has a strip of carbon fiber over the core (the other models the carbon is under the core) and the look is different. If you'd like to get this graphic on those skis, just contact us for a graphic mockup - we'll get them built for you!

What bindings should I get?
You can use any binding on these skis. The binding brake width must be at least as wide as the waist width of your selected ski model. For example, the Ahmeek 105s require a brake width of at least 105 mm. We run Marker Griffon bindings on our demo skis. Visit your local ski shop for bindings and mounting.

What are Camber Pockets?
Camber Pockets are additional small sections of camber (about 4" long and 0.030" tall) molded into the overall camber of the ski in front of and behind your midsole position. They increase contact pressure to improve grip on hardpack and ice.

Are they tuned and waxed?
Skis come tuned with a 1° base edge bevel and a 2° side edge bevel and a slight tip/tail detune. The skis are waxed with a universal temperature wax to get you going.

AHMEK 105 /Single Quiver Western Ski

Like many avid skiers, Ive traveled for years with multiple skis, always dreaming of characteristics that would be desirable in a single ski travel ski. Let’s face it, traveling with multiple skis or even trying to swap out once on the mountain is a pain. I want, no, need, versatility to ski the entire mountain. The Ahmek 105 with nanomag is the ski Ive dreamed of. This ski is FUN. Trustworthy. Predictable until it isn’t (ie fun, see comparison to WRT below). It’s a workhorse and I will be buying the 115 for next season for deeper/storm days.

This is the 5th ski in my current quiver (Stockli AX, WRT, E100, DPS 106 C2). This ski is lighter than the E100 yet nearly as damp and stable at 50 mph plus. It’s got a kick like my WRT (you read that right). Load this sucker up with shorter turns on harder snow and, not only will the edge be there, but you’ll get some out of the turn ( was shocked by this!). It’s reasonably quick in trees and floats well. The tail is there, but releases on demand. Smears and checks back up immediately. It engages in turns at slow speeds (super important for me, I love edging on cat tracks or mellow slopes). It seems to “want” any turn, or turn shape I throw at it. Tip shape/flex remains stable in chop and at speed (yet it is such a light ski, how!?). All this in a 105 waisted ski, insane! I blindly purchased this ski last summer and, for the first time in years, I am not looking for a replacement in this category.

I am 6’4”, 190. Bought the 186, stock layup/core, added nanomag. P14’s OTL. I do wonder what a longer 188-190 version would be like BUT with the blunt nose the effective length/area appears the same as my 190 Wailer 106’s…

Awesome for Everything

Replaced my old center mount Line Blends with Ahmeek 105s this year. I mounted Marker Griffon bindings 3.7cm forward from the suggested mount point to get a more centered feel to rotate in the air. They worked fantastic in all ways. They're a little fat for groomers but doesn't matter, they handle great. They also are great for skiing switch. They have great grip on ice and handle powder and trees like a champ. They have great balance in the air and are very nimble. I skied my local groomers along with powder, ice, and trees (and rocks) in Winter Park and Breck. Also skied trees, cliffs, powder and ice at Bohemia. It's awesome having skis recognizable as midwestern skis, I recieved a lot of compliments. These skis rip!

True all mountain, all condition ski!

I purchased my Ahmeek 105's July of 2021 and outfitted them with LOOK pivot bindings. I never had a chance to demo the skis before purchase so I primarily went off of previous reviews and the blister review posted on the skis.

Needless to say after a few michigan weekend trips and a week trip out to Idaho I am 100% sold on this ski. I am every impressed on how the ski handles in all conditions. On my trip to idaho we had conditions ranging from spring corn to 5-6" of fresh to hard groomers at the end of our trip. It handled all conditions with ease. The ski charged through the ungroomed chop and was a riot to hop off of the runs into the trees and glades. I was very impressed with the skis frontside groomer performance, and the versalitity to go anywhere on the mountain and not worry about swapping skis.

Awesome ski for all conditions, Thanks Shaggys!

Surprisingly nimble

I recently moved to the up so I got some powder skis having my old race skis for the groomers but I took them out on the groomers and I was able to carve really well which I was shocked by I love them they work really well.

Fantastic Skis

I was a bit hesitant about buying a ski from a small ski company but I am so happy I did, the customer support was outstanding and the ski buying and customizing processes where painless.
The skis themselves both look and ski great, they are truly an all around ski that is the perfect blend of a aggressive and playful ski.
